Format

THE rules of boxing as specified by the British Boxing Board of Control apply to this tournament with the following exceptions and amendments.

1) The tournament will consist of eight professional boxers licensed and approved by the British Boxing Board of Control competing in the same division.

2) A draw will be made, before the tournament, to determine which two boxers will contest each other in four quarter-final matches.

The winners of the quarter-finals will proceed to the two semi-final matches, and the losers will be eliminated. The winner of the semi-finals will proceed to the final to determine the overall winner. All the contests to take place on the same evening

3) Each contest will be over three x three minute rounds.

4) The winner of each contest will be decided by three judges, appointed by the British Boxing Board of Control.

5) There will be a minimum of ten minutes interval before any boxer would be expected to participate in consecutive contests (ie the winner of the second semi-final would have a minimum of ten minutes before being expected to compete in the final)

6) The referee is in charge of the well being of the boxer and he will be sole arbiter if any contest should be stopped. He may at any time consult a ringside doctor for an opinion.

7) Accidental Cuts. If a boxer receives an accidental cut and the referee has to stop the contest, then the cut/injured boxer will be eliminated from the contest, and the uninjured boxer shall proceed to the next round.

Deliberate cuts. If a boxer receives a cut as the result of a deliberate action – as determined by the referee – of another boxer and as a result is unable to continue, then the offending boxer will be disqualified from the remainder of the tournament, and the injured boxer shall be replaced by another Boxer as determined by the promoter

If such an incident occurs in the final then the injured boxer shall be declared the overall winner.

For the avoidance of doubt, if a Boxer receives a cut during a contest, but the referee does not stop the contest, and the cut boxer goes on to win the contest, then that boxer may receive attention from his corner and cutman in the interval period before his next contest.

However, it will be for the referee of the next contest, in consultation with the doctor, to decide if the Boxer is fit to continue.
